Disney’s Jungle Cruise Done Filming; Watch the Wrap Video

Well, that was pretty quick. After announcing the start of production last July, Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson celebrate the end of production for the upcoming film Disney's Jungle Cruise. Check out the wrap video where Blunt, Johnson, and the rest of the crew celebrate.

Back in August, the movie actually got a taste of bad PR when it was revealed that Jack Whitehall (who is a straight man) was playing a gay character in the movie. The online outrage wasn't enough to budge Disney, however, as Whitehall wasn't fired or replaced in the role.

Undoubtedly, Disney is still trying to make bank with movies that are based on rides or attractions from Disneyland. Pirates of the Caribbean paid off wonderfully, but other adaptations like Tomorrowland and The Haunted Mansion didn't fare so well.

Hopefully, Disney has something good going on with Jungle Cruise. The movie looks to have a solid cast; besides Whitehall, Blunt, and Johnson, Paul Giamatti is also attached to a role, as well as Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons who is set to play the villain.

I don't know if you've seen the U.S.S. Callister episode of Black Mirror, but Plemons was absolutely horrifying as the main antagonist. Imagine what they have in store for him in Jungle Cruise.

Here's the official description:

Based on Disneyland's theme park ride where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles, but with a supernatural element.

Jungle Cruise hits theaters Oct. 11, 2019.
