Disney’s Acquisition Of Fox is 'Almost Done And Closed'

Disney might have hit a few snags with regulators in Mexico and Brazil in completing its acquisition of 21st Century Fox and the studio's various film and television assets, but now word has it that the deal is actually approaching completion.

Kevin Mayer, the Mickey Mouse House's chairman of direct-to-consumer and international offers just recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter to update everyone about the merger, and it seem s like the deal is sitting just around the corner.

"The deal closing keeps me up at night, but it is almost done and closed," Mayer told the publication. "I'm eager to execute. I'm eager to get these services out in the public's hands. That is an excitement more than it is a nervousness."

This is definitely good news for Marvel fans waiting on updates regarding the merger between Disney and Fox. While some worry about the overwhelming power that the Mickey Mouse House might have after obtaining Fox and its assets, fans are looking forward to the arrival of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and all of the studio's other mutant franchises in the Marvel Cinematic University.

While some might be expecting the deal to take a few more months considering Disney's issues with regulators in Mexico and Brazil, THR reveals that Mayer has been involved with the merger since the very beginning of the acquisition. Not only was he one of Fox's biggest dealmakers, but he also played a large role in creating the merger itself.

So when Mayer says that the deal is on its way, it's on its way. The only question now is how long will everyone have to wait.
