It's a brand new film year, and with a new set of offerings from Marvel, Lucasfilm, and it's very own reboot roster, analysts expect Disney to have a strong 2019 at the box office especially in the light of the studio's acquisition of 21st Century Fox and its many assets.
The Motley Fool has a new breakdown of the Mickey Mouse House's tracking, and according to the site, even without the impending finalization of the deal with Fox, Disney is still tracking for one of its biggest financial years thanks to the studio's upcoming films, television series, theme parks, and of course licensing.
Of course, many expect Disney to have a strong run at the box office with so many highly-anticipated films in its basket. Fandango just recently listed down ten most-anticipated movies of 2019, and seven of those come from Disney, including Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel, and Star Wars: Episode IX which all take the top three spots in the list. Toy Story 4 comes at number five, The Lion King comes at number seven, Aladdin at number eight and last but not the least, Dumbo at number nine.
The Mickey Mouse House has a lot of major films under its belt, and analysts expect the top three films from Marvel and Lucasfilm to make at least a billion each at the global box offices during their respective theatrical runs.
Outside of that, Disney is also launching its own streaming service, Disney+, this year. This streaming platform includes a number of highly-anticipated Marvel projects including series for Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), as well as for Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel).
There's a lot of good things coming Disney's way this year, and we can't wait to see it coming.
