Disney Rumored to Revive Daredevil and Other Marvel Netflix Series

Marvel fans were devastated when Netflix decided to cancel the Marvel series it had been producing for its streaming platform. Shows like Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and The Punisher all had a considerable following, and most of the series didn't get the time that it needed to complete its story.

While Netflix has a provision in place in its contract prohibiting characters from these Marvel series to head on to new projects within two years of its cancellation, there are rumors going around saying that Disney could pick up the shows.

Taking to Reddit, Marvel fans have been sharing a CNET article about Disney+, highlighting a statement that says that could hint at the possibility of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher and The Defenders returning from the dead.

"Kevin Mayer, the Disney executive in charge of Disney Plus, has said Disney Plus could possibly revive the canceled shows," CNET wrote in its piece.

Though the statement isn't a confirmation from Marvel, it does give fans hope. Ever since Disney launched its own streaming site, fans have been hoping to see the Mickey Mouse House pick up the cancelled Marvel Netflix series. While the original contract with Netflix restricts the series revivals until sometime in 2020, Disney could begin working on arranging the series transfer from the streaming giant to Disney+.

Not only would it please Marvel fans, but it would bring in additional content to Disney's streaming site. Let's cross our fingers and wait and see.
