There is little doubt that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker had a lot of cameos, including a surprise appearance by Killing Eve actress Jodie Comer as Rey's mother. But did you spot Ed Sheeran in Episode IX? If you were having some trouble finding the singer, Disney has finally revealed the exact moment he made an appearance.
The revelation comes from Oh My Disney, which pinpoints just about every Easter Egg in The Rise of Skywalker. It also confirms that the reason why you didn't see Sheeran was that he didn't exactly look like himself.
That's right, Sheeran played the strange new alien who was a part of the Resistance. I can't remember if he had any lines but even if he did, I probably wouldn't recognize him anyway. Nevertheless, it's cool to know that most of the Resistance fighters that appeared in Episode IX were stars in their own right.
Sheeran's cameo in The Rise of Skywalker is very different from what happened in Game of Thrones. In the seventh season, Sheeran played a Lannister soldier who encounters Arya Stark as she is on her way back to Winterfell. The musician even performed a song in the episode. Interestingly, the cameo was met with mixed reactions from Sheeran's own fandom and Game of Thrones fans.
The article also confirmed one awesome Easter Egg that people were talking about. During the final battle, Wedge Antilles returned to aid the Resistance and flew with Lando Calrissian. It was an awesome moment that had Star Wars fans cheering.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is still screening in theaters worldwide.
