A lot of Star Wars fans have been anticipating the release of the upcoming series Ahsoka which will bring back Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano following her appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

While most of the plot details are still being kept under wraps, we do know that it will follow the story threads of Rebels including the return of the main characters in live-action form and Ahsoka's hunt for the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Following the teaser trailers and promos that they released for the last several weeks, we finally know when the series will arrive on our screens.

Ahsoka Finally Sets Its Release Date

Disney+ and Lucasfilm have announced that Ahsoka will premiere on the streamer on August 23. Afterward, new episodes will debut weekly every Wednesday for the entire run of the eight-episode season.

Alongside the release date announcement, they also released a TV spot titled "Begin" that gave us another preview at some of the action-packed moments in the series including Sabine Wren wielding a lightsaber.

Previously, Lucasfilm only announced the show's late summer release window and now we have the exact date and its release day on the streamer during its weekly run.

This is certainly an exciting announcement since fans can finally set their calendar for the show's premiere and now all we can do is wait for two more months before we can finally see what they have in store for Ahsoka Tano's solo adventure in the post-Return of the Jedi timeline.

The show's synopsis reads: "Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy."

In addition to Dawson, the cast also includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the late Ray Stevenson, Ivanna Sakhno, Diana Lee Inosanto, David Tennant, Lars Mikkelsen, and Eman Esfandi. Dave Filoni wrote all the episodes.
