Disney is again facing another turmoil amid filming their episodes for the upcoming MCU project, Wonder Man. According to a report, one of the staff members of the forthcoming series had fallen to their death while working on the show.

Faulty Radford Studio Center Set Leads To Worker's Death

The 10-episode miniseries, Wonder Man, will be released sometime in 2025. Despite going through several halted productions, it eventually concluded in April 2024.

However, before anyone even gets teased about the show, Disney has been fined for the unsafe working environment on the Wonder Man set.

According to the report, lighting technician Juan Carlos "Spike" Osorio fell to his death on February 6 on the set of Wonder Man, and Disney is being issued a fine of $36,000 over a CAL/OSHA ruling.

The CAL/OSHA investigation pointed out that Osorio's death may have had something to do with the "rotten catwalk" in Studio City's Radford Studio Center.

Apparently, the wood had decayed, and the catwalk attached to the roof was "not properly nailed down." Osorio fell 41 feet and "forcefully impacted the ground below."

"As the crew walked along the catwalks, the employee [Osorio] stood on the weakened section of the catwalk," per the CAL/OSHA report, "Suddenly and without warning, the ledger supporting the floorboard broke apart and collapsed as the employee was standing on this section of catwalk."

The death promptly led to the upgrade of a number of catwalks and other studio facilities. It is worth mentioning that the death occurred while Wonder Man was not shooting at the time, one source claimed.

Still, this led the IATSE Local 728 union, where Osorio was formerly a member, to issue safer workplaces after their tragic loss, as they wrote in their statement: "While we recognize and appreciate the work that all the major studios have done in retrofitting their soundstages since this tragedy, there are many non-Union facilities that lack the resources and oversight to make this possible."
