Disney CEO Says The Mandalorian Season 2 will NOT Be Delayed

Theaters and movie productions have been shut down by COVID-19, and several films have been delayed by months and even a year. Good news for Star Wars fans though, because it looks like The Mandalorian Season 2 will be coming out on time.

Talking to CNBC, Disney CEO Bob Chapek has confirmed that, "there will be no delay on Mandalorian.' We don't know what the current status of the show is now, but production was able to announce their wrap before lockdowns started.

While The Mandalorian is going to release as scheduled, the same can't be said for the Marvel Disney+ shows. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was in the middle of production in Prague when the crew was ordered to go back home, and though WandaVision did wrap, I imagine there are going to be some plot points that would have been revealed in Black Widow and TFATWS.

Going back to The Mandalorian though, it's pretty great that the show will be able to come out in schedule. With Star Wars already taking a hiatus in cinemas, Disney+ will be the only medium to get new Star Wars content for a while. After The Mandalorian this year, we should expect the release of Cassian Andor in 2021, then the Kenobi series by 2022—just in time for the next Star Wars movie.

For now, the second season of The Mandalorian is still slated for a release this October.
