Disney CEO Says Star Wars Disney+ Shows Could Become Movies

Since the Skywalker Saga has already met its conclusion with The Rise of Skywalker, it is not yet known as to what the future of the Star Wars universe looks like on the big screen. In addition to the successful run of The Mandalorian's first season on Disney+, it seems like fans have a slight idea of what to expect in Star Wars movies in the near future.

Speaking to The Star Wars Show, some fans have recently noticed that Disney CEO Bob Iger is hinting at something very exciting in his interview. It seems like Star Wars shows on the streaming platform could potentially become movies in the future. "I don't look at it as just television. I look at it as an extension of Star Wars storytelling," Iger explained. He claims that Disney+ has allowed them to bring Star Wars to people "in new ways" and vice versa, where they were able to "bring new Star Wars to people."

"It's not the same places or the same characters. Just look at Mandalorian," he added. "Obviously, there's a lot shared, there's a lot that's really fresh, and I love that."

He also "loves" the "ability" for them to "be agnostic in terms of what platform it's being made for." "And so it could be, down the road, that a TV show becomes a movie and a movie becomes a TV series," Iger said. However, he pointed out that he's not making any announcements, but he makes it a point that it's important for them to be "agnostic."

Star Wars fans got really hyped with his comments, especially since there is a chance that Baby Yoda could eventually make it on the big screen. While there's no Star Wars movies announced as of now, you could look out for the second season of The Mandalorian in the Fall of 2020, as well as an Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+.
