Prior to the release of The Rise of Skywalker, Star Wars fans had different speculations with regards to the potential couples that'll be revealed in the film. However, the last part of the movie was a shock to most people, and these two characters' relationship weren't exactly everyone's cup of tea, including Finn actor John Boyega.

This article contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Taking to Twitter, Boyega shared some still photos from the Star Wars sequel trilogy which shows four different scenes where Rey and Kylo Ren are either fighting or are on the verge of killing each other. Surprisingly, one of these images was even a spoiler for Episode IX, where Rey managed to stab Kylo in their fight at Kef Bir. You can check out his tweet below.

What got the fans' attention is the actor's caption to his post, he wrote, "Star Wars romance," including three emojis, one of which is a side-eye emoticon. His tweet definitely got some attention, and while some agree with Boyega, other fans aren't particularly happy about his post. In addition, it seems like the actor is slightly shading the characters' connection, considering that their relationship was unhealthy or toxic, hence his choice of making an ironic caption as opposed to the photos.

That being said, it is also possible that he's only trying to imply that Rey and Kylo Ren ended up as a couple instead of the heroine ending up with Boyega's character. Regardless, this just adds to the endless debate of these Star Wars relationships from the sequel trilogy.
