Director Shares New Still of Ghidorah from Godzilla: King of Monsters

There are a lot of big movies coming this year, but probably one of the most massive will be Legendary's Godzilla: King of Monsters. Last month we got treated to a new trailer for the movie, and now director Mike Dougherty has shared a new image of the main antagonist King Ghidorah.

Check him out:

We don't know how ‘biblical' the rest of the movie is going to be, but I'm excited to see what kind of made up history these ‘Titans' will have when they're revealed. We know that Mothra used to be some kind of ancient savior, but what about Ghiodrah is so specific that he has to have ‘King' in his title? Why is he the bad guy while we wait for Godzilla to come and save our asses?

While the first Godzilla was no doubt a visual spectacle of a movie, the only thing that held it back was the quality of human actors. Hopefully, with the King of Monsters, we actually have a cast that everyone will be just as invested in as they are with the multiple Kaiju in the movie. Either way Millie Bobby Brown looks fantastic as her character, and you can never go wrong with Charles Dance a.k.a. Tywin Lannister.

Members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species-thought to be mere myths-rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.

Godzilla: King of Monsters hits theaters May 31, 2019.
