There are still a few months to go before the premiere of Wonder Woman 1984 but fans are now convinced that the decision to delay the DC Extended Universe flick may have been a huge mistake. So did Warner Bros. make a major error by pushing the film back now that the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) could last until summer?
Wonder Woman 1984 was originally set to premiere in December 2019 before it had to be moved to a different release date in an effort to avoid competition with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. People were initially delighted when Warner Bros. opted to push the sequel for a November 2019 release. Unfortunately, the studio ultimately pushed the second Wonder Woman movie to premiere in June 2020 so it mirrors the first film's June 2017 release.
Naturally, fans weren't happy about having to wait so long for Wonder Woman 1984 especially since it was already completed in early 2019. Now things are getting scary because of COVID-19. While others are worried that this could mean the movie will be delayed yet again, some are pointing out that people may have already lost interest in the film by then.
For now, we are still very interested in seeing Diana Prince's new adventures since the first movie was so good. Hopefully, the sequel will not have to go through another delay because of COVID-19.
Wonder Woman 1984 is directed by Patty Jenkins and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, and Pedro Pascal. The film is scheduled for release on June 5.
