Jesse Eisenberg Eager to Return as Lex Luthor in More DCEU Films

The future of the DC Extended Universe might not be so clear as it looks like Warner Bros. is only interested in pursuing more Aquaman and Wonder Woman films. Nevertheless, that hasn't dampened Jesse Eisenberg's spirits at all. The Justice League star has just admitted that he is eager to return as Lex Luthor in more DCEU movies.

Eisenberg recently spoke to In The Panda about his future plans and the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice actor stated that he wants to return as Luthor.

"Oh yeah, I would very much like to because it's such a cool character," Eisenberg said. He then continued by stating that playing Luthor in the DCEU movies was truly enjoyable.

"Playing a villain in a superhero movie is the fun part. The good guys are fine, but the villains are the fun part because they get to be a little bit more flamboyant," Eisenberg continued. "Of course, the hero gets to, you know, survive. But, the villain has all the funny lines. I don't know about the first part, but the second part is something that I could definitely be involved in, sure."

Although it is still unclear how Luthor will be brought back, the post-credits scene in Justice League may have been a clue. In the scene, Lex meets up with Slade Wilson and suggests that he and Deathstroke should start a league of their own. This is a reference to the Injustice League.

We'd like to see the Injustice League showing up in the DCEU. On the other hand, Warner Bros. has yet to make an announcement about this so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

Eisenberg's new movie Resistance is scheduled for release on March 27.
