Did The Batman Cast Riverdale Star Cole Sprouse As Robin?

People are understandably getting excited now that Robert Pattinson has been cast as the new Bruce Wayne in The Batman. But has Matt Reeves just found the new Robin as well? A new rumor suggests that Riverdale star Cole Sprouse has been confirmed to play Dick Grayson.

The Twitter account Le Cinéphiles has just posted that Reeves cast Sprouse just shortly after confirming Pattinson for The Batman. Take a look at the tweet below.

Now, before you get excited, it's best to remember that Le Cinéphiles is actually a satire page. The account has tweeted out some truly hilarious content like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex naming their son Jughead Jones (the real name is Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, if you're wondering). So unfortunately for Riverdale fans who were hoping to see Sprouse become the Boy Wonder, this one simply isn't true.

It was previously reported that The Batman might reintroduce Robin as Bruce Wayne's constant companion. In addition to that, the film is expected to bring back The Penguin, Catwoman, and the Riddler as some of its several villains. However, these details have not yet been confirmed so it is best to take it with a grain of salt.

Not much is known about The Batman just yet but there are speculations that the film will focus on the comic book character's early years as the Caped Crusader. Additionally, Pattinson is reportedly being optioned out by Warner Bros. to play Bruce Wayne in two more movies.

The Batman is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021.
