Did Star Wars: The Last Jedi CinemaCon Clip Show Fans a New Jedi?

A new Jedi is (probably) in town. Or is it a possible Jedi-in-training?

CinemaCon has given Star Wars fans a glimpse of what could be with the footage that has reportedly arrived at the event. ComicBook.com reported that the short video was just there to whet the appetite of fans.

But if there was one thing that should be of note in the clip, it would be that Rey was actually wielding Luke's lightsaber.

The clip seems to have come from the one shown at the Annual Meeting of Shareholders. Currently, there is no sample of the footage showcased. Still, with Star Wars Celebration in Orlando is just a few days away, it's possible that a longer trailer will be shown off there.

Something good to get fans going though: someone from Disney did state that Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be a continuation of the story. So don't expect any time skips and expect all of the cast to be back.

While that alone begs the question of whether fans will still see Carrie Fisher's Leia Organa in the movie. And if her storyline will be treated with care until the would have to eventually let her character go following her passing.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is expected in theaters on Dec. 15.
