Rogue One was one of those movies where it's hard to find a favorite character. All of them obviously made a mark, but yet all of them met an end that was both necessarily heroic and still hard to swallow until now.
But there's no denying that Alan Tudyk's character, K-2SO or fondly called Kaytoo by others, is a definite hit. The actor shares with News.com.au just why his rendered character shone in an otherwise heavy movie.
"He was funny without being a comic character in a movie that was pretty dark. The levity he brought was appreciated. He was involved in a lot of funny moments. He wasn't trying to be funny, he was just a funny character because he was so honest in moments that it was incongruous with what was happening."
Indeed, most of the laughs generated from the audience were primarily from Kaytoo scenes. The others were definitely from the unique duo Chirrut Imwe and Baze Malbus.
Kaytoo's personality were obviously far from C-3PO. While equally memorable as a fellow droid, Tudyk gave his own brand to the droid fellowship by being the forever sarcastic and interesting Kaytoo, whom we felt for even until he beeped his last hurrah.
Rogue One will be out on Digital this month and DVD/Blu-ray in April.
