BTS made a historical record when it got nominated in three categories at the 2023 Grammy Awards.

For three consecutive years, BTS has been appearing on the Grammy Awards’ nominees list. It initially scored a spot in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category in 2021 for Dynamite. The group was nominated in the same category the following year with Butter.

This year, BTS was nominated in three categories: Album of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

But following the weekend ceremony, BTS and ARMYs did not receive good news.

BTS Did Not Win a Grammy

ARMYs were left infuriated once again after Grammys snubbed BTS for three consecutive years. The K-pop supergroup, unfortunately, did not win in any of the three categories it got nominated in.

For the Album of the Year, Harry Styles scored the award for his Harry’s House album. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift brought home the Best Music Video for her All Too Well: The Short Film.

On the other hand, Sam Smith and Kim Petras won the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their song, Unholy.

After the ceremony, ARMYs immediately slammed the Recording Academy and called Grammys, scammys once again.

Among the comments read:

“Tbh I don't want BTS to attend Grammy's this year so the scammys will know who needs who when the views will drop badly.”
“If scammys gave a listen to Equal Sign, then they would have gotten educated about EQUALITY, we all speak different languages and have different cultures, but at the end of the day we are all humans, we all are the same, we all are equal!”
“Third time Grammy’s. When will you give bts the credit they deserve? #scammys”

Why BTS Did Not Attend Grammys

BTS’ absence at the Grammys also caused a little buzz. Still, fans reminded others that RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook (Jin is currently serving in the military) that they decided to focus on solo projects and activities instead.

During the group’s 2022 BTS Festa, RM said their time off would allow the members to pursue what they want to do outside the group.

Meanwhile, a representative for HYBE clarified that the status should not be called hiatus.
