DIA Chaeyeon has been tapped to star in a new drama with BTOB member Yook Sungjae.

In January, multiple news outlets reported that PocketDol Studio confirmed Chaeyeon’s participation in the MBC’s new fantasy drama, Golden Spoon.

The series is based on the webtoon of the same name, and it will tell the story of a kid born in a low-income family who finds a mysterious golden spoon to switch life with a friend who was born in a wealthy family.

Yook Sungjae would reportedly play Lee Seung Chun’s role, a man whose life would change because of the golden spoon. At that time, Chaeyeon’s character remains unknown. But they confirmed that she would be playing the female lead.

Months after the announcement, the K-pop idol herself disclosed further details about her character.

Before Golden Spoon arrives, DIA’s Chaeyeon previously worked in the KBS 2TV drama, The King’s Affection. It marked her first-ever historical drama since she first started her career.

The K-pop idol joined other cast members then, including VICTON’s Byungchan, Nam Yoon Su, and Bae Yoon Kyung. Chaeyeon played No Ha Kyung’s role. The youngest in the family received so much love from her father, so she grew up with a pure soul.

Now that she is collecting more titles under her belt, it is highly likely that Chaeyeon will be part of more dramas soon.
