MAMAMOO Solar is reaping the fruits of her hardships while making her first solo mini-album, FACE.

MAMAMOO immediately left a strong impression when they debuted in 2014. At that time, they were considered as one of the K-pop groups with the best debut that year.

Although they have been around the industry for more than seven years, Solar still faces struggles during music-making. The K-pop idol spoke candidly about her experience, especially before releasing her first solo mini-album in an interview.

Despite that, she braved everything and put on her game face instead. As a result, her first mini-album savored the best recognition so far.

HONEY also enjoyed the same when it reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in five countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, and Costa Rica.

MAMAMOO Solar Struggled While Making Mini-Album

Her efforts have been paid off with the recent recognition, but Solar still shared the struggles she went through while making the album.

In an interview with Wikitree on Tuesday, Solar said that she felt too nervous about releasing her first mini-album despite the fact that she had already released SPIT IT OUT in 2020. She talked about the real reason for not releasing anything for two years, saying that her personality likes new challenges, so she put in everything she wanted to try before dropping a new project again.

For FACE, the K-pop idol experienced the need to upgrade but was too afraid to do it. Because of that, she spent so much time having those thoughts that it took her a long time to complete the album.

"Being human, I sometimes lose confidence. There are good stories, but there are also bad stories. I thought that I am a confident person, but seeing that, I sometimes lose confidence. The messages from the fans that were comforting and that accumulated, so I gained confidence again and was able to release this album,” she went on.
