Devil May Cry 5 Title Has Been Registered

When Capcom rebooted the Devil May Cry series with DmC: Devil May Cry, fans were angry. The game itself was liked by critics, with those playing it themselves admitting that it was a fun game but that doesn't mean a reboot was necessary. Fans still despise the redesign Dante got and have been begging Capcom for a true follow-up to the original series, aka Devil May Cry 5.

It looks like fans are about to get their wish, as Devil May Cry 5 has been registered by the same registrar that Capcom has used for the websites of Monster Hunter World and Resident Evil 7.

Since E3 is this week, we could get official confirmation on the latest entry of Capcom's highly regarded combat-oriented series. E3 is the biggest stage for video game announcements after all and there is no better place to make this reveal than in front of a thousand screaming fans.

Capcom has gone to great lengths to make earlier games in the series accessible to those with a current-gen console, making us wonder if this was the company's way of testing fans to see if they wanted a new game in the series. The first three Devil May Cry games just got an HD re-release a few months ago, while Devil May Cry 4 got an enhanced edition sometime last year. Even DmC: Devil May Cry got an HD re-release, so skeptics can give that game a whirl.

E3 takes place this week, on June 10. Will we see Devil May Cry 5? Let's hope so.

Thanks, ResetEra
