Demon Slayer Season 2 finally has an official release date! Since the debut of the anime's first season back in 2019, sales Koyoharu Gotouge's original manga series quickly soared, and thanks to huge box office success of the anime's debut feature film, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, the anime franchise continues to rise in popularity. Fans have been highly-anticipating for the second season of the anime series, and just few days after confirming its return for the Fall 2021 anime schedule, the official release date has finally been confirmed, but there's a twist!

Ufotable has announced that Demon Slayer Season 2 will officially start its adaptation of the Entertainment District arc from Gotouge's manga series on December 5. While this date may be a bit surprising to fans, there's actually an exciting reason for this.

While the Entertainment District arc won't officially kick-off its one-hour special episode this December, the anime series will be back this Fall with a fresh version of the Mugen Train arc. Technically, Demon Slayer Season 2 will begin on October 10 with seven new episodes featuring the Mugen Train arc from the feature film.

The premiere episode, which will be entirely new, will be followed by episodes that will feature the events of the Mugen Train arc seen in the film. For fans worried about seeing the same events unfold, there will be some brand new footage in the new episodes. However, if you rather for a completely new Demon Slayer arc, you'll have to wait until December, when the Entertainment District arc kicks off.
