Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 16: Is [SPOILERS] Dead?

If you're watching an anime called Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, it's safe to assume that there will be a lot of deaths. After all, the heroes are trained to slay demons and some of them sometimes end up failing at their job. But is it possible that Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 16 just gave us two major deaths? The ninth episode of the Entertainment District arc may have meant a huge tragedy for the Demon Slayer Corps!

In Yukaku-hen Episode 9, Tengen Uzui and Tanjiro Kamado continued to fight against Gyutaro while Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira tried to defeat Daki. Tanjiro gets several near-misses but Tengen makes sure to get him out of the way of Gyutaro's attacks.

Meanwhile, Inosuke is desperate to decapitate Daki as soon as possible. Luckily, he manages to do so with the help of Zenitsu and Tanjiro, and he immediately escapes with Daki's head to keep it from being reunited from her body.

Inosuke is fast but it turns out that Gyutaro is much faster. As Inosuke runs, the demon catches up with him and stabs him through the chest with his blood sickle. It appears to be a fatal wound since the sickle is laced with poison and Inosuke falls from the roof from the attack.

This isn't the only shocking thing that happens in Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 16. Tanjiro is astounded that Gyutaro managed to evade Tengen then realizes that the Sound Hashira is lying on the ground with a severed hand beside him.

So does this mean the end for Inosuke and Tengen? Fans are hoping they will both survive. With that in mind, we'll have to wait until next week to find out.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 Episode 17 is titled Never Give Up ("Zettai Akiramenai") which refers to Chapter 93 of the original manga. Yukaku-hen Episode 10 will premiere on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 11:15 PM JST.
