Demon Slayer Season 2 Finale: How Many Upper Moon Demons Will Appear?

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 is coming to an end today but that doesn't mean that the fight is over. Although the Demon Slayer Corps managed to defeat Daki and Gyutaro in the Entertainment District arc's penultimate episode, they only count as one victory and there are five other members of the Twelve Kizuki who just happen to be the Upper Moon demons. So is it possible that Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 18 will introduce the rest of Muzan Kibutsuji's warriors? Will the rest of the Upper Moons finally make their anime debut?

If you have been following the anime, only a few members of the Twelve Kizuki have been introduced. In the first season, the Lower Moon demons like Kyogai and Rui debuted as antagonists although they were defeated by the Demon Slayer Corps. Muzan then proceeded to kill all the Lower Ranks except for Enmu, who would serve as one of the villains in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie - Mugen Train.

We got to meet the first Upper Moon in Mugen Train as well and the Upper Rank 3 Akaza was responsible for the death of Kyojuro Rengoku. Yukaku-hen then brought in Daki and Gyutaro, who both hold the Upper Rank 6 title.

The defeat of Gyutaro and Daki would mean that they will be replaced in the Upper Moon rank. Although it is still unclear, fans are hoping that the anime will feature a meeting between the Upper Rank demons as Muzan finds a replacement.

Although we're hoping that all the Upper Moon demons will finally show up in the Demon Slayer Season 2 finale, there's a good chance that we'll have to settle for at least one. It is believed that Daki and Gyutaro's backstory will be adapted and the flashback could reveal who helped them become demons.

The final episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 is titled No Matter How Many Lives ("Nando Umarekawatte mo"), a reference to Chapters 96 and 97 in the manga. The final episode of Yukaku-hen will air on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 11:15 PM JST.
