Demon Slayer Season 2 Entertainment District Arc Drops New Opening Theme

The time has come for a new Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 episode and this time, we got a new opening theme. After all, Episode 8 is the first episode in the Entertainment District arc and that means a completely different opening theme and sequence. Not surprisingly, fans are loving the new theme performed by Aimer.

Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 8 didn't kick off with the opening theme right away. Instead, we got a flashback to the fight between Akaza and Rengoku Kyojuro before the episode went straight into the story. For this episode, the opening theme was played in the end and it was worth the wait.

The new theme is titled Zankyo Sanka ("Song of Reverberation") and is performed by Aimer. The song itself was released ahead of the episode's premiere.

It's a new sound for Demon Slayer which has always relied on LiSA for its themes. However, it's a welcome change as Aimer's music perfectly fits the vibe for the Entertainment District arc. After all, a story arc set in the Yoshiwara red-light district is decidedly more mature than the previous arcs and that means that the characters are growing with their experiences. With that in mind, we can't wait to hear it again, this time at the beginning of the episode, next week.

In addition to a new opening theme, the Entertainment District arc is getting a new closing theme. Asa ga Kuro ("Daybreak") is also performed by Aimer and is expected to debut in next week's episode.

Are you ready to hear the new opening and closing themes together in one episode? Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 Episode 9 is titled Infiltrating the Entertainment District ("Yukaku Sen'nyu") and is the second episode in the Yukaku-hen story arc. The new episode will air on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 11:15 PM JST.
