Fans have been waiting since 2016, but next week will finally see the release of Hideo Kojima's highly anticipated Death Stranding. Just in, Playstation has dropped an 8-minute trailer to give us a better look at the game, but despite it all, we still can't get a full grasp of the story.

In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With spectral creatures plaguing the landscape, and the planet on the verge of a mass extinction, it's up to Sam Bridges to journey across the ravaged wasteland and save mankind from impending annihilation.

If anything, Kojima Productions is trying it's best to stay vague when it comes to the marketing of the game, seeing as the mystery behind everything is one of the main hooks of Death Stranding. Hopefully by the end players can get all their questions answered. Personally, I have a feeling we could still end up confused anyway, seeing as until now people are also trying to get their heads wrapped around the entire plot of Metal Gear Solid.

Despite the mysterious story though, there's no doubt that Death Stranding looks fantastic. Besides the actors that Kojima managed to hire for Death Stranding, we also have some fantastic mechanical and creature design. Let's hope the gameplay manages to live up to the hype, too. I mean, being a delivery man doesn't sound too exciting, but I bet Kojima has found a way to make it so.

Death Stranding comes out for the PS4 on Nov. 8.
