Deadpool 3 Writer Teases Plot Details for the MCU Sequel

There's been a lot of curiosity from fans on Deadpool 3 given that it's now going to be part of the MCU and Ryan Reynolds remaining in the role after playing him in the first two 20th Century Fox-produced films. So far, most of the information regarding the film has been under wraps as it is currently in development. Now, an interesting detail has emerged about the anticipated sequel which teases what we might expect from it.

In a recent interview with the Post-Credit Podcast, Deadpool 3 co-writer Rhett Reese gave a little tease regarding the plot details of the film. While he didn't reveal any specific details, he did say that it's going to be a "fish-out-of-water" story for the titular hero.

"It’s a wonderful opportunity for fish-out-of-water," Reese said. "Deadpool is a lunatic at the center of a movie. To drop a lunatic into a very sane world, it’s straight butter. It’s going to be really fun."

In the same interview, Reese and co-writer Paul Wernick were also asked about the Morbius memes that have been trending online. While they admitted that they still haven't seen the film and the memes, they did joke that they might have to try to incorporate them in Deadpool 3. "We haven't seen Morbius. We haven't even seen the memes. But now it's on our radar," Wernick said.

Even though they didn't reveal a lot of details regarding the film, it is intriguing that it will have a "fish-out-of-water" story which also makes sense since the character will assumingly go to the MCU which is not his home universe and they might explore his struggle in fitting on the PG-13 world. That is certainly an interesting concept for Deadpool's debut in the MCU.

It's also hilarious that they might consider including Morbius-related jokes which is something that the Deadpool films are known to do. It wouldn't be surprising if most of the jokes in the film will be about how Deadpool is now part of the MCU and under the Disney umbrella. Either way, it's already exciting to see the direction that the film will go.
