Deadpool 3 Will Happen, According to Deadpool Creator

20th Century Fox

While the X-Force film may be dead to Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, there's still hope for Deadpool 3. Today, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld said that he believes the Ryan Reynolds-led franchise will happen in "some form, some fashion."

"Nothing like deadlines to clear your head... let me be clear Deadpool 3 will happen, some form, some fashion," Liefeld tweeted. "Disney paid $60 billion for Fox and Deadpool is most valuable asset in today's market. Makes more than X-Men films."

The $71.3 billion-dollar acquisition of Fox is expected to be completed in March. Liefeld previously said that Drew Goddard's X-Force project with Zazie Beetz and Josh Brolin is more likely dead in the water, calling the potential $800 million-plus grosser a "victim of the merger".

According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, Fox-controlled Marvel properties such as Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and X-Men will fall under the purview of Kevin Feige and his Marvel Studios banner when the acquisition is done.

Ryan Reynolds is expected to continue to lead the franchise after Disney completes its acquisition of Fox's properties.
