In an interview with BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast, director Shawn Levy confirmed that Logan will be acknowledged as part of the canon in Deadpool 3 and they intend to pay it with respect.

"I have always said that I can’t wait for Deadpool 3 to come out because all I want to do is give interviews alongside Ryan [Reynolds] where we talk about our reverence for the movie Logan," he said.

"Logan is canon. We love Logan. That happened. I want the world to know, as the producer and director, all of us share a deep love and respect for Logan, every aspect of how it’s crafted, and the events that take place."

It is great to hear that Logan is going to be acknowledged as part of the canon since the film was important to many fans and its accomplishment as a comic book movie alone is worth recognizing.

However, it will also mean that Logan's death will be reversed since he will be brought back to action and is going to be alive for the upcoming film to partner with Deadpool.

Since we have not seen the film yet, it is hard to tell exactly how they will recognize its canon to the MCU multiverse, but nevertheless, it is certainly appreciated that its events won't be ignored even with its grim outcome in the end.

Deadpool 3 is slated to arrive in theaters in 2024.
