A lot of MCU fans have been excited about Hugh Jackman's return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. He will also finally team up with Ryan Reynolds' titular mercenary after years of playful rivalry between the two and clamoring from fans.

What made Jackman's return more special this time around is that he will be wearing a comic-accurate yellow and blue Wolverine costume in the film which will be the first time ever since debuting on the role back in 2000.

So far, we don't know the context of why Jackman is finally wearing the costume in the upcoming film, but fans are definitely happy to see it happen since it is something that they never thought would ever happen back when Fox was making the X-Men movies.

Speaking with reporter Jake Hamilton, Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy opened up about Jackman's comic-accurate Wolverine costume in the film where he revealed that it was Kevin Feige who conceived the idea after the actor agreed to return.

He also revealed Jackman's hilarious reaction when he first learned about the idea.

"I'm so happy that we were able to release that one picture before the strike paused production. I'm glad I made you that happy, made a lot of us that happy," Levy said.

"I think this would have gone down this way anyway but when we first told Kevin Feige that Hugh Jackman wanted to join the movie, my recollection is the first thing he said was, 'But let's go with the blue and yellow. Just tell me we go with the blue and yellow.'"

The director continued, "I approached Hugh and he's like 'F*** Yeah!' Now, you have to bleep me. He's like 'Hell yes!'"

It is great to hear that Jackman was immediately on board with the idea after it was pitched to him and he is probably aware that fans have been clamoring about it for decades which is perhaps why he was very open to seeing it happen.

Now, all we need is to wait for any video footage of Jackman in costume to see how it fares well when he is in action and hopefully, it is as awesome as fans are imagining it to be.

Deadpool 3 is slated for release in theaters in 2024.
