When the possibility of Hugh Jackman's Logan having a sort of cameo in Deadpool surfaced, the Internet almost broke. The possibility of the gruff and tough self-healing mutant teaming up with the very talkative Merc with a Mouth just seemed too much fun to explore.
That may actually be the case with how Marvel plans to team up Deadpool with Cable for the sequel, but even with the Logan crossover something far off—at least with Jackman as Wolverine—there is one possibility that writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were happy to muse and ponder about.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the conversation took a wonderful turn when a Hugh Jackman as himself cameo was suggested to the writer duo.
"Oh my gosh, that's one we haven't heard. That's not a bad idea. I like that. Deadpool lives in a world where Hugh Jackman is out there. He's got the People's Sexiest Man Alive cover that he staples to his forehead in the first movie, so maybe he could meet Hugh as Hugh. That would be really funny."
I believe so, too. It's like a fourth wall type of joke about Logan to Hugh Jackman the actor via a fourth wall break joke. That's like, sixteen jokes.
Deadpool 2 will definitely be something to watch out for when it comes out sometime in 2018.
