When Colossus made that parting line at the end of Deadpool, saying "We'll make an X-Man out of you" to the Merc with a Mouth, it's almost inevitable that we may see some sort of team-up happening for its succeeding movies.
Now the question is, who would be the other mutants gathering in Deadpool 2? The answer may have been hinted at by the Deadpool 2 teaser that came with the Logan movie.
Cable is already confirmed to feature a lengthy role in the sequel—we learned that as early as the end credits of Deadpool. But now, Comicbook.com reported that Cable's (a.k.a. Nathan Summers) adopted daughter may also be in the sequel.
The hint lies in the scene that focuses on the phone booth. Scribbled in all-caps and in bright orange graffiti pen is the word "HOPE!" Technically, that could've passed as a random scribble in a superhero world. But when it's scribbled right next to "Nathan Summers coming soon," it looks a little more like a Deadpool playful jab than random occurrence.
Hope's own backstory is already rich, given that she had been rescued from a mutant-eradicating group, raised by Cable, and further hunted by another mutant who saw her as a threat to the world.
For now, this is all conjecture at this point, but with Cable already confirmed for the sequel (though its actor is still unconfirmed), we may be looking at an even wilder Deadpool 2.
Deadpool 2 will hit theaters sometime next year. It's directed by David Leitch, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and stars Ryan Reynolds.
