Deadpool 2 Expected To Beat Infinity War At The Box Office During Its Opening Weekend

Avengers: Infinity War might have been having a field day at the box office the past few weeks, but now that the first installment in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie's reached its fourth week in cinemas, it looks like Deadpool 2 just might be able to offer some competition.

According to Box Office Pro, Deadpool 2 might not be able to beat Infinity War's massive opening weekend, but the raunchy sequel is poised to become the box office winnter during its premiere this week. Analysts estimate that the film is to start off with an opening weekend of haul at $133 million. Though that's a bit lower compared to early $150 million opening projection for the film, it is a pretty strong start.

Not only is the opening slightly higher than what Deadpool made back in 2016, it's also higher than the expected earnings of Infinity War over the week. Other films that are expected to make in the top five when Deadpool 2 opens are Book Club, Show Dogs, and Life of the Party.

Deadpool 2's considerably strong opening beating Avengers: Infinity War is kind of a surprise. Sure the film might already be at its fourth week with an expected descent down the charts, but the film's been so strong at the box office, it's already broken so many records. Guess the film just has to give way to the Deadpool sequel.

Deadpool 2 premieres May 18.
