Deadpool 2 Cut a Scene with Baby Hitler

[THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR DEADPOOL 2]

The ending of Deadpool 2 had Wade snatch Cable's time travel device to "fix" the timeline, saving Vanessa and shooting Ryan Reynolds in the head before he can star in Green Lantern. As it turns out, there was supposed to be an extra scene where Wade goes back in time to kill baby Adolf Hitler.

According to MCU Cosmic, the scene had to be removed because it made the test audiences uncomfortable. This is how the scene would have played out:

Deadpool in a newborn ward; standing next to a crib with a name tag that says "A. Hilter."He goes back and forth on doing it. A baby cries and he says, "Shut up Ira, you'll thank me someday!" Finally he goes for it, then baby Hitler's POV as Deadpool strangles him.

The "Would you kill baby Hitler" dilemma is something that's been discussed in philosophy repeatedly, but judging how we know Wade, he would rather succumb to the violent solution as compared to pondering the moral ramifications of his actions.

Though I'm sure fans would have loved to have seen an X-Force teaser post-credits, I guess it was fun enough that we had that montage of Deadpool time travelling. I was completely convinced that Hugh Jackman was going to appear in some way, but it just turned out to be stock footage from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Catch Deadpool 2 in theaters May 18.
