Deadpool Mocks First 10 Years of Marvel with 10 Years of Deadpool

2018 marks a special event for Marvel Studios, what with their cinematic universe having run for ten years. True to its cynical marketing, Deadpool 2 has also released a 10 Years video chronicling the journey it took to make the Deadpool franchise come to life.

It's been known that Ryan Reynolds has been trying for years to get Deadpool made, but was constantly put down by Fox. Even when the movie was greenlit, Deadpool was still made to release in February of 2016, usually known as a ‘dump month' in the box office.

Now with two movies in, the video has Deadpool mocking Marvel with his ‘expansive two-movie cinematic universe'. No doubt Deadpool remains to be the only well-received X-franchise for FOX right now, and the film is planning to expand with an X-Force movie in the works. It would make sense that Wade Wilson would tease us with a ‘Phase 2.'

Though Tim Miller wasn't onboard for the second movie, David Leitch still manages to capture the same feel that made the first Deadpool a success. Not to mention, the inclusion of more mutants and some great banter from Ryan Reynolds and co-stars is a treat to watch onscreen.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters May 18.
