DC Universe Cancels Swamp Thing After One Season

We've been hearing a lot of great things about Swamp Thing, but it looks like we won't be seeing more of it anytime soon.

According to The GWW, Swamp Thing has been canceled by WarnerMedia/AT&T after one season. As it turns out, it wasn't an issue with the budget or performance, but the executives apparently weren't keen on what direction the show was going. Apparently, one executive was also said to have wanted Swamp Thing to be more like the CW shows like The Flash or Supergirl.

With the show stopping production abruptly and ending at 10 episodes instead of the original planned 13, Swamp Thing already looked like it was going to get canned. It was only after all the positive reaction that some thought there was actually a chance for the show to thrive. I guess the executives thought differently.

If anything other networks are looking to pick up Swamp Thing from The CW to HBO, but nothing official has been announced. Admittedly the horror genre isn't my cup of tea, but I'm always welcome to more diversity when it comes to any comic book adaptations.

Now I'm curious of what's in store for future DC projects like the animated Harley Quinn series.

Abby Arcane returns home to Marais, Louisiana to investigate a deadlyswamp-borne virus, where she develops a bond with disgraced scientist Alec Holland. After Holland tragically dies, Arcane discovers the mysteries of theswampand that Holland may not be dead after all.
