There's no denying that Henry Cavill is one of the most criminally underutilized actors in all of comic book cinema and it's quite baffling how Warner Bros. and DC Films have never prioritized him despite the fact that he's playing the franchise's flagship character Superman.

Not counting his appearance in the Snyder Cut, it's been nearly five years since Cavill appeared in the DC Extended Universe and while some fans have given up on the idea that he'll actually return as Superman, others are still holding out hope which is quite fitting of the Man of Steel's iconic symbol.

Now, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is offering some promising updates regarding the future and a potential crossover between Black Adam and Superman. Responding to a fan who's hoping for a Superman appearance in Black Adam, the wrestler-turned-actor dropped a major tease and said he always listens to what the fans want.

Here's what he said: "From back in the day when I was wrestling in flea markets for $40 bucks a match, all the way to now. I’ve learned to always listen to the audience because they will always lead you to where you need to go. I hear you & I always got you". Check out the tweet here:

Following The Rock's promising Twitter tease, fans got extremely elated and unsurprisingly, most of them jumped to the conclusion that Black Adam will face off with Henry Cavill's Superman. Check out some of the reactions below:

While we don't know how much creative control Johnson actually holds over the project, it's worth noting that the multi-time WWE champion has been attached to the project since 2007, and let's face it, WB would be foolish to not cater to his requests.

Hopefully, this major tease does lead to the return of Cavill's Superman because honestly, it feels like forever since the last time we saw him soar as the Man of Steel.

DC's Black Adam is scheduled for theatrical release on October 21, 2022.
