DC Comic Artist Jim Lee Debunks Rumors Regarding Zack Snyder And Justice League

There's been a lot of controversy surrounding Zack Snyder's films. While the director was initially hired to build the DC Extended Universe, a lot of fans and critics have had problems with Snyder's many DC films, including Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League.

Though Snyder's DCEU movies have all had their fair share of mixed reviews, iconic DC Comics artist Jim Lee denies the rumors that Warner Brothers decided to fire the director from Justice League last year.

According to a thread on Reddit, one fan reportedly asked Lee during a panel at this year's Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo over the weekend whether Warner Bros. really did fire Snyder from Justice League because they were tired of the director's films. Lee responded that though there were many rumors surrounding Snyder's work on Justice League, he knew that the filmmaker really did voluntarily take a step back from the film's production because of the death of his daughter.

Last May, word came out that Snyder was leaving Justice League because of a family tragedy. His daughter committed suicide in March and though the filmmaker wanted to use work to help cope with the loss, he realized during the later parts of production that he needed to spend time with his family instead.

After leaving Justice League, Warner Brothers brought in Avengers director Joss Whedon to help with the film's reshoots, and since then there have been a lot of complaints regarding Whedon's work with many fans looking for Snyder's cut of the movie.
