DC Comics is heading to 2021 with a line-wide event called DC Future State. The event will be starting from January to February. During this period, fans will get to see a new Superman, Wonder Woman, and a new Batman.

As DC Future State is coming right around the corner, ahead of the exciting event, DC announced the identity of its new Batman. It has been long believed to be Luke Fox or Batwing, the Batman star of Future state was actually revealed by DC as Luke's brother, Tim.

Tim Fox was created by Irv Novick and Len Wein. The character debuted in Batman #313 in 1979. Tim was the estranged son of Lucious fox and Batwing's brother. Tim was recently brought back in the DC continuity in the Batman: The Joker War Zone #1, after Tanya suggested that Lucius is reaching out and asking him to return to Gotham.

DC released a statement on its Future State Batman titles:

The statement appears to indicate that Future Slate's storyline for Batman will start due to the events that happened in Scoot Snyder and Greg Capullo's Dark Nights: Death Metal.

Here is DC Executive Editor Marie Javins about the project:

DC Future State is a two-month event that will have new characters taking up the mantles of the famous and beloved key characters from DC. Clark Kent was already replaced by his son, Jon. Wonder Woman's Diana is replaced by a daughter of an Amazon and Brazilian river god, whose name is Yara Flor. Yara Flor will take up the Wonder Woman mantle in the DC Future State.

Future State: The Next Batman debuts on January 5.
