David Harbour Posts Cryptic Photos On Instagram Pointing To Stranger Things

Police Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) might have sacrificed himself at the end of Stranger Things Season 3, but fans are holding on to the belief that the Hawkins Police Chief might make a surprise return in the next season of the hit science fiction-horror web television series.

Not only did the very last episode of Stranger Things Season 3 tease Hopper's potential return, but David Harbour also changed his profile picture on Instagram to give away a phone number that led fans to a voicemail from Murray, adding fire to the speculation that Hopper was alive after all.

Now, it looks like Harbour is back to his antics. According to ComicBook.com, the Stranger Things star has been cycling through a sequence of images on his profile, all of which are connected to Eleven's (Millie Bobby Brown) back story.

In the second season of Stranger Things, fans learn that Eleven's mother had been put through electroshock therapy sessions by those at Hawkins lab after she tries to steal away her daughter. The electroshock therapy sessions cause permanent damage to her brain, leaving her with a few keywords: "breathe. sunflower. three to the right, four to the left. 450. Rainbow."

All of these were part of Terry Yve's backstory, and now they're being teased by Harbour on Instagram. First, the Hellboy actor changed his profile to a sunflower. Then he changed it to a rainbow. Then he added in a picture of 450 volts. Eventually, he changed his picture to a photo of the Milgram Experiment – a study on electroshock therapy.

Now the final photo is the very first photo that Harbour used when he launched his account, only that it's upside down.

What could it all mean? Does Eleven's backstory have something to do with Hopper's return?

Let's wait and see. Season 4 of Stranger Things has yet to receive a release date but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
