David Ayer Talks About Cut Joker Scene from Suicide Squad

There were a lot of scenes in Suicide Squad that didn't make the final cut, and one fan decided to ask director David Ayer what was supposed to happen in the scene where the Joker is burned on one side of his face. Ayer apparently has the answer, and it places the Joker in the climax of the film.

He replied on Twitter:

After Joker dropped [Harley Quinn] from the help and crashed, Enchantress made a deal with him. He was going to take Harley home and be "King of Gotham" Harley stood up to him and refused to betray her new friends. The Squad turned on him and he escaped.

After all the marketing for the film, the Joker ended up coming out as such a minor character. Though fans were disappointed at the lack of Mr. J, probably the one who ended up most annoyed was actor Jared Leto. He was said to have totally disappeared into the role, but only a handful of his work was used in the final cut.

Though a lot of people don't know where to place Leto's Joker performance in the movie, I personally think he just needed more time for the character to develop. Hopefully we'll get to see him go on an all out face off with Batman—if that movie I ever going to come out. Hurry up, Matt Reeves!

We don't know when Jared Leto's next appearance as Joker will be, but it's possible that he'll be in the Suicide Squad sequel that could come out next year.
