Dave Filoni Reacts To Theories About Star Wars Rebels’ Ezra Becoming Snoke

There might be a lot more information on Star Wars: The Last Jedi now that the film sits two months away from its release date, but Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) remains largely a mystery.

Lucasfilm still hasn't revealed Snoke's full identity and though the novelization of Star Wars: The Force Awakens indicates that the First Order leader is a non-human, humanoid, there have been theories that Snoke might actually be a withered version of Ezra from Star Wars Rebels.

Though Rebels' executive producer Dave Filoni denies these connections fervently, he also tells Comicbook that he really can't blame the fans for cooking up their own theories.

"I like reading the fan theories, and when I read them, I think, 'Well, there's no possible reason that that can't be true, it's just not true," Filoni laughs.

"You love the fans. I'm one of them," the executive producer confessed. "If I wasn't here working on Star Wars, I'll bet you I would have a bang-old Snoke theory of my own. I don't fault them for coming. I think we want them to come up with stuff because it means they're engaged. It shows how much they love it."

While the Star Wars fanbase does have its level of toxicity, there's no denying that Star Wars fans are nothing but full of passion, and it's really fun to read through the different theories they cook up.

Episodes of Star Wars Rebels' fourth season air on Disney XD every Monday at 9:00 PM ET.
