Dave Filoni Addresses Ezra's Possible Time Travel In Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Blu-Ray

The final season of Star Wars Rebels certainly introduced the possibility of time travel in the Star Wars Universe. But did Ezra Bridger actually connect with the Force to move through time?

In the Season 4 episode World Between Worlds, Ezra ended up in a new realm where he heard the voices of characters from different points in the saga. The young Jedi found the time where Ahsoka Tano was battling Darth Vader and decided to pull her out of danger. However, executive producer Dave Filoni says that this has nothing to do with time travel.

In a clip from the Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Blu-ray (via ComicBook.com), Filoni reveals that Ezra did not travel through time but into a strange new dimension.

"It's just about a place where everything comes together and you hear different things echoing throughout time. Because it's all fluid at that moment, in that place, it's not this material thing that's linear."

Filoni further states that Ezra was drawn to the moments involving Ahsoka and Kanan Jarrus because they were part of his experience. This explains why he did not understand the voices of Rey and Kylo Ren from the current trilogy.

The realm introduced in Rebels certainly has the potential of playing a large role in the Star Wars Universe. However, Filoni himself is unsure of how he could explain the mysterious dimension.

"I don't know how real it actually is. I don't want to define that for people, anyway."

It is still unclear whether the possibility of time travel will be explored in the current trilogy.

Star Wars Rebels Season 4 is currently available in digital download and Blu-Ray.
