Darth Vader Reportedly Set For Ewan McGregor’s New Obi-Wan Series

Earlier today, Hollywood trade sites confirmed the rumors that Ewan McGregor really was set to return to Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away, this time in his own Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. Though these sites didn't really get that much information about the show aside from the fact that Lucasfilm really is developing an Obi-Wan Kenobi series, word on the mill says that we might get to see the return of one of the most iconic villains in Hollywood history – Darth Vader.

Fantha Tracks has a new report on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and according to the fan site, not only will McGregor be reprising his role as the benevolent Jedi Knight, but he'll also be reportedly "performing alongside a familiar mechanical co-star, and when we heard who it was, our hearts skipped a beat."

Though the publication doesn't really name Vader in its report, it's hard to imagine hearts skipping beats if the "mechanical co-star" would turn out to be R2-D2 or C-3PO. Vader is a more likely guess considering how fans mostly hold their breath when they see and hear the "mechanical" breathing of Luke Skywalker's father.

If Vader were to appear in the show, then it's likely that the show will be set sometime between Star Wars: Episode III –Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.

Of course, we could be wrong. Hopefully, Lucasfilm officially announces the Obi-Wan series and reveals the show's details when it heads down to Disney's D23 this month.
