Darth Vader No Longer The Most Popular Star Wars Character

Darth Vader might send chills running up and down the spine every time he walks in a scene in a Star Wars movie, but it seems like there's one Star Wars newcomer that's giving the Sith Lord a run for his money as the galaxy far, far away's most popular character.

In the spirit of May the Fourth, Express decided to set out to find the most popular Star Wars character to date, and it looks like Vader's lost his place as the top choice among fans. The entertainment news outlet just recently had a study conducted by SEMRush, and data from the online visibility management platform reveals that Baby Yoda's taken Darth Vader's place as the most popular character in the Star Wars franchise.

According to Express, Baby Yoda's become so popular that the character's managed to gain more than 4.7 million average monthly searches the past few months.

This shouldn't really come as a surprise. Baby Yoda was an instant hit the moment he appeared in the final moments of the first episode of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. Fans were captivated by The Child's curious little feet and his wide doe-eyes.

The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) also beat Darth Vader, coming in second in SEMRush's results. Din Djarin scored 2.5 million average monthly searches the past few months, beating everyone's favorite Sith Lord whose numbers have dwindled to a 893,250 monthly searches.

This diminishing interest in Vader isn't all that surprising. After all, now that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's all over, Star Wars is moving away from the Skywalker saga.

Who do you think is the most popular Star Wars character right now? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
