Yesterday, it was reported that Daredevil: Born Again is undergoing a massive creative reboot after Marvel Studios reviewed the footage that was shot before the actors' strike and decided to start from scratch again.

As a result, head writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord and the directors were let go from the project and Marvel Studios is now looking for new writers and directors who will run the new version of the series.

The report claimed that the original version of the MCU series would have been more like a legal procedural style and Charlie Cox wouldn't be in costume as the hero until the fourth episode.

While they retained some of the cast members from the Netflix version, Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page and Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson are notably absent in the MCU reboot and no explanation was given on why they're not part of this new version.

Now, following the reports of the show's creative overhaul, a new rumor has emerged that explains Foggy's tragic fate in the MCU reboot.

According to insider @CanWeGetToast on X, the original version of Daredevil: Born Again would have revealed that Foggy was killed off-screen and it prompted Matt Murdock to hang up his cowl for over a year after failing to save him.

However, no explanation was given regarding Karen's absence in the new series.

In addition, Kingpin would have been a mayor when the show started and he won because of his campaign on backing law enforcement and discouraged street-level heroes such as Daredevil, Punisher, and Spider-Man.

It sounded like Foggy's supposed absence in the series was part of the story from the very beginning and his death served as motivation for Matt to stop his heroic life in Hell's Kitchen.

This creative decision would have angered a lot of fans since Foggy was a fan-favorite character in the Netflix version and this would prevent them from bringing him back to the fold in any capacity.

It remains to be seen if Foggy's grim fate will remain in the story of the new version or if they'll change their mind and have him brought back into the fold since the character is a pivotal figure in Matt's life.

Since it will be a long time before the series officially goes back on track, it might take a while before we'll hear their new plans for the MCU reboot, but some fans have expressed their hope that Foggy and Karen will be involved again this time around.
