Daredevil And Big Little Lies Stars Cast As Star Trek: Picard Series Regulars

It looks like one Daredevil and Jessica Jones star managed to find a new home in CBS All Access' upcoming Jean-Luc Picard series.

Though there hasn't been that much news about the upcoming Star Trek series starring the legendary Patrick Stewart, new casting announcements have been made.

According to a new report by Variety,Ash vs Evil Dead and Blindspot star Michelle Hurd has been added to the series' cast list. The actress has also appeared in Marvel Netflix series like Daredevil and Jessica Jones, both of which were axed after three seasons on the streaming site.

Santiago Cabrera has also been cast along with Hurd. The actor is known for his roles in series like Salvation, Big Little Lies, Heroes, and The Mindy Project.

Right now, there's very little information about Hurd and Cabrera's roles, though we're hoping that CBS lets everyone know the sooner the Jean-Luc Picard series approaches its premiere.

We're also excited to know whether any other Star Trek: The Next Generation star might appear along with Stewart in the series. Star Trek alumnus Michael Dorn (Worf) has expressed interest in appearing in the series. Original Star Trek William Shatner also teased the possibility of a return to the franchise.

As thrilling as it might sound to have the old TNG gang back together, CBS' new Star Trek series aims to feature a different side of Picard. Earlier this year, series producer Alex Kurtzman revealed that Picard wouldn't be a captain in the show. Instead, Picard would be featured in a very different stage of life – something which fans would expect considering the series has been set 20 years after Star Trek: Nemesis.

Picard's Star Trek series is set to premiere sometime later this year on CBS All Access.
