Star Trek's Simon Pegg Undergoes Extreme Body Transformation for Inheritance

Geek hero Simon Pegg has starred in films like Star Trek, Star Wars, and Shaun of the Dead, and he's always played the ‘everyman' sort of character. With his upcoming movie Inheritance though, Pegg has decided to undergo a Christian Bale-esque transformation, and you can see the results on Twitter.

The photo was originally posted up by Pegg's personal trainer Nick Lower:

While Pegg's roles have been physical before, we never really got to see him as lean as he is now. His character technically made a body transformation in Run, Fat Boy, Run, but Pegg had to wear a body suit just to look more out of shape than he was.

If anything, I don't expect Pegg's look here to last pretty long. He's always been a comedic actor, and those roles don't really require too much work when it comes to your body. Besides, I don't think Pegg would want to do all the body maintenance at his age. I doubt he would have to pull a ‘Chris Pratt,' having to make sure he has a fit body for every role he has moving forward.

According to Deadline, the story of Inheritance, "explores what happens when the patriarch of a wealthy and powerful family suddenly passes away, leaving his wife and daughter with a shocking secret inheritance that threatens to unravel and destroy their lives."

We don't really know who Pegg plays in the film yet, but I'm sure there's a good reason that he had to do so much work to get into shape.

Inheritance is directed by Vaughn Stein and has no announced release date.
