Dan Slott's Final Amazing Spider-Man Issue Brings Back Fan-Favorite Artist

Marvel's June solicitations have detailed Amazing Spider-Man #801, the final issue of longtime writer Dan Slott. In the same month, he will be transitioning to Tony Stark: Iron Man, while he hands over the book to Nick Spencer and Ryan Ottley in July. It's going to be an emotional farewell for sure and Marvel has decided to bring back a fan-favorite artist to draw Slott's final issue.

Fan-favorite artist Marcos Martin will be providing interior art for the issue. Martin has also drawn the cover, which is gorgeous.

Responsible for some of Dan Slott's best Amazing Spider-Man issues, including the haunting Amazing Spider-Man #655, it's great seeing Martin return to Marvel. His last interior work for the company was for Mark Waid's acclaimed run on Daredevil, after which he worked with Saga's Brian K. Vaughan on The Private Eye and the upcoming Barrier series, which debuts on Free Comic Book Day.

While Amazing Spider-Man #800 will conclude the Go Down Swinging arc, #801 will be more of what Dan Slott loves about the character. It looks to be one of the more subtler finales from the writer and fans will likely appreciate his last issue.

Amazing Spider-Man #801 comes out this June. The series will then be relaunched as Amazing Spider-Man #1 in July, with Nick Spencer and Ryan Ottley taking over.
