We all know for a fact that the Star Wars sequel trilogy concluded in an open-ended and not to mention controversial fashion with Rey adopting the Skywalker surname. Of course, this has led a lot of people to believe that actress Daisy Ridley will return to the franchise down the line but we just don't know when it will actually happen.

Now, a new rumor sparks renewed discussion surrounding Ridley's Star Wars status and according to YouTuber Mike Zeroh (via Express), Lucasfilm is giving the 30-year-old British actress her own series on Disney+ which chronicles the aftermath of The Rise of Skywalker.

According to a video he recently posted, the said project will see Rey form her own Jedi Order. It's worth noting though that the source has had a reputation of being a hit-or-miss when it comes to his Star Wars scoops so it's still best to take this one with a huge grain of salt.

Earlier this year, Daisy opened up about possibly returning to the franchise in the future and while she didn't really give a definitive answer to all the rumors surrounding her next galactic journey, the actress said that she'll always be Rey, and if you'll look at it from a different perspective, it seems like an indication that she will in fact come back.

As divisive of a character Rey was, I still believe she deserves another go at the franchise, and if anything, she's one of those characters who is in dire need of a redemption arc so I'm definitely on board with the idea of her returning.

Meanwhile, the Star Wars sequel trilogy is available to stream on Disney+.
