We all know for a fact that Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy isn't held in high regard but despite the films failing to hit the mark with longtime fans and critics, it still made Lucasfilm over $4 billion at the box office during its run from 2015 to 2019, making it a massive financial triumph all things considered. Of course, we all know that the production company's focus is currently on the MandoVerse but it's definitely a no-brainer that Star Wars will explore the future of the galaxy post-sequels in the coming years.

As for its lead protagonist Rey, fans are under the impression that The Rise of Skywalker pretty much concluded Daisy Ridley's tenure in the Star Wars franchise and while we haven't seen her much in the limelight as of late, rumor has it that her return to a galaxy far, far away is definitely happening.

According to a report from Giant Freakin Robot, Ridley has signed a new deal with Lucasfilm that would see her be involved in at least three Star Wars projects. However, the specifics about her rumored comeback have not been disclosed.

The Rise of Skywalker may have served as the culmination of the Skywalker saga but the film itself ended in a massive cliffhanger and it seems to tease that Rey's journey is far from over. Considering Star Wars is an ever-expanding franchise, it wouldn't be too farfetched to think that Lucasfilm will actually explore the aftermath of the sequels but I truly hope they've learned their lesson.

The entire Skywalker saga is available for streaming exclusively on Disney+.
